Yeti 575

Easton Havoc Wheels

I'm using Easton Havoc wheels on this build. For all-mountain-tough wheels, they are pretty light... weighing in at 920 grams for the front and 1080 grams for the rear (without skewers).

For tires I went with my favorites... Kenda Nevegals.

Avid Juicy Ultimate brakes

I decided to go with Avid Juicy Ultimate brakes on my Yeti 575. I've used these on a few other bikes and love them. My experiences with them on my Yeti ARC were really good... even on really long dowhills I didn't get any fade, and stopping power was excellent. Some may use a larger front rotor on the front, but I'm a smaller guy and don't think I need it, so front and rear rotors are the same size.

Making progress on my Yeti 575

I've had my 2010 Yeti 575 Carbon frame for a few months now and have finally started to get her built up. So far, here's what I've assembled...

• 2010 Yeti 575 Carbon frame (Team Colors, Size Medium)
• Fox 32 Float 150 Fork (150mm RLC Fit, 15QR)
• Cane Creek S3 Plus Headset

The S3 Plus headset adds 5mm of stack height which helps the adjuster knobs on the Fox Fork clear the frames downtube.

The drivetrain is as follows:
Crankset: Shimano SLX M665 Double (175mm)
Shifters: Shimano SLX SL-M660 Shift Lever Set
Front Derailleur: Shimano SLX M667 (Down Swing, Dual Pull)
Rear Derailleur: Shimano SLX RD-M662 (SGS, 9 Speed)
Cassette: Shimano SLX
Chain: Shimano HG-93 9SP

To round things out, I went with a Crankbrothers Joplin seatpost. These are expensive, but I've heard so many good things about them I had to get one. For pedals, I went with Crankbrothers Candy SL's.

Next up.... I'm still trying to decide on a different stem (probably a Thomson), the wheelset, tires, and brakes. Stay tuned...

Yeti 25th Anniversary 575 Race Bike

To celebrate their 25th anniversary Yeti took one of the most iconic and game changing bikes ever made and turned into something even more. This limited edition 25th anniversary 575 will be produced in a batch of 250 frames/bikes, each one individually numbered. The first and most notable change was the paint scheme, paying homage to their heritage with classic team colors, "dart" design and graphics. Enhancements to the frame include a tapered head tube to boost front end stiffness, iscg mounts, chainstay mounted front derailleur for precise shifting, 10 speed Dyna Sys XT drivetrain, revised seat tube bottom bracket junction and a new alloy chain stay design with chip drop outs.

When specifying components Yeti only used what would compliment the frame. Up front the custom painted Fox fork matches perfectly to the Yeti team colors. Not only does it look sweet but it offers a host of tuning features as well like air pressure, compression, rebound, lockout and threshold. To keep the wheel tracking straight and the weight down Fox employed a tapered steer tube and 15qr dropouts. The new 10 speed Dyna Sys XT drivetrain provides smooth and reliable shifting with a wide range of gears. To keep your speed under control powerful Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes with Servo Wave technology were chosen. The one and only DT Swiss provided the fast and strong wheels used to create this master piece of a bike. But wait, these are no ordinary wheels they too are color coordinated to the frame. Even the WTB saddle was exclusively made just for this bike. To top it off a custom anodized Chris King headset and bottom bracket are specified. These improvements create a bike not only visually stunning but also more than capable to take on your most epic rides!
